Torizon Unveil Debut EP ‘Meliora’ and Stir Emotions with New Single ‘Sober’

Meanjin/Brisbane-based petalcore outfit Torizon announce their debut EP Meliora, set for release on Friday, 19 September, alongside East Coast tour dates.

To mark this exciting milestone, the band reveal their emotionally charged single Sober, produced by Kalen Austin and mastered by Mike Kalajian at Rogue Planet Studios.

Opening with a gripping synth line, Sober erupts into a wall of sound driven by cinematic orchestration and thunderous rhythms.

The track swells with tension and crescendos in a prog-inspired bridge. Dual vocals from Mish Sharma and Ben Gallaher mirror the anguish of characters Luna and Sam with haunting precision.

‘Sober’ Explores Grief and Addiction Through Sound and Storytelling

Torizon explain that Sober continues the narrative from Bloom, diving into the aftermath of Luna and Sam’s tragic miscarriage.

Using addiction as a metaphor, the song captures the emotional unraveling of their relationship under immense grief.

The accompanying video by Emerge Creative portrays their desperate attempts to reconcile, featuring personal elements like IVF needles from Mish Sharma’s egg donation process.

The bouquet of roses subtly nods to Bloom, tying the storylines together. With this release, Torizon offer a raw and relatable portrayal of loss, resilience, and emotional survival through powerful music and visual storytelling

This October, Torizon will bring their high-impact performances to the East Coast for their first-ever headline tour.

Joined by Naarm/Melbourne’s alt-metal outfit New Million, the tour will stop in Eora/Sydney, Naarm/Melbourne, and Meanjin/Brisbane.

Each show will feature local heavy acts from each city, creating a diverse and powerful lineup. Fans can expect emotionally charged sets, dynamic stage presence, and a celebration of Meliora in full force.
